St James Big Project

We at St James are moving forward with plans to renovate and upgrade our beautiful Wren church. We will be re-wiring and re-lighting the building to banish the gloom. We will be redecorating. We will be re-imaging how we use the Narthex area, with plans for a new side chapel, display space and new parish offices. We will be investing in technology and investigating how to meet Net Zero 2030 targets. Finally we will be improving our outside space to create a pleasant garden area to compliment the improvements planned by the City Corporation to Little Trinity Lane.

This will be a major ‘once in a lifetime’ investment into the church and we anticipate costs of 2m.

We are delighted to report that RIBA 1 has been completed and that work is now underway on RIBA 2&3. To help fund this the City Church Grants Committee (CCGC) has just awarded us 85k towards these immediate costs.
